Is this list dead? Everybody said what they wanted to? Did I kill the conversation?
Should I buzz off (out) of this tribe?

Re: dead list?
Fri, February 6, 2004 - 12:55 AMsuit yourself. I think people just post as the mood strikes - I may be the moderator, but how does one force members to post?
(clearly threats of eternal damnation won't go far in our bunch.)
I'm willing to try though:
ATTENTION Everybody! Post something or I will shoot this cute little bunny rabbit!
...hope that helps. -

Re: dead list?
Fri, February 6, 2004 - 4:05 PMOK, I'll post. First, I am unscathed, but that's because my parents were not so much fundamentalist as just real believers. They had their own view about certain doctrines, and usually it aligned with the Bible. On extra-biblical items (ie: Halloween, Christmas trees, etc.) we made up our own minds. (I mention that because I remember a preacher who said Christmas trees were pagan, so almost every family in the church threw out their trees. When he left, they bought new trees.)
Masturbation was a climatic topic. When I finally realized that it was no big deal, I did wonder what else I was taught was really no big deal. (Now, my masturbation did not involve porn--and I do think that has a tendency to warp one's mind.)
I met some friends who were Christians, but a lot more liberal than I. That broadened my ideas.
Now, I see that my views are quite aligned with the post-modern Christian "movement"--if it can be called such.
I am still a believer, and I believe a truer Christian. Before I thought I was perfect because I hadn't done any bad things; now, that I've done some bad things, I know I'll never be perfect--and grace has become real. I want to be real!
