How many religious ways of doing things do you have?
How many times have you gone against the word of God
and done things based on your own ideas? How many
times have you put God°Øs word into practice in order
to show your true consideration for the burden of God
and to fulfill the intention of God? In understanding
the word of God and putting the word of God into
practice, your actions and behavior should be in
accord with its principles, and you should not abide
by rules and regulations. You should not force
yourselves to do this just to show off to others, but
rather, you should put the truth into practice and
live according to God°Øs word. Only this kind of
practice will please God. The way of doing things that
pleases God is not that of rules and regulations, but
that of practicing the truth.
There are those that like to put themselves on show.
When seeing brothers or sisters, they will say that
they are indebted to God, but, behind the backs of
others, they don°Øt put the truth into practice and go
their own way. Aren°Øt these people religious
Pharisees? Those that truly love God and possess the
truth are known as the ones that are loyal to God.
They do not make a show of it outwardly, but they are
willing to put the truth into practice when they
encounter various situations. And, they are able to
speak and do things without going against their
conscience. What is more, they possess wisdom when
they meet situations, so that no matter what the
circumstances, they follow principles when doing
things. Such people really know how to serve God.
There are also some people that are always saying with
their lips that they are indebted to God. They look
terribly distressed, behave themselves in an affected
way and put on a pitiable look. Their conduct is quite
disgusting! If you ask one of them how he is indebted
to God and ask him to say something, he can think of
nothing to say. If you are loyal to God, you will not
go and tell everyone, but you will show your love to
God by your true actions and you will pray to God in
sincerity. Those that only use words in their dealings
with God are hypocrites. When they pray, there are
some people that say they are indebted to God, and
they weep whenever they are praying. Even when they
are not moved by the Holy Spirit, they weep. Such
people are occupied by religious ceremony and by their
own ideas. They base their lives upon these things.
And they think that God is pleased with what they do,
and even believe that God likes their outward devotion
or their sad tears. With such fallacies, how can they
have good prospects for the future? There are some
people that pretend to be gentle so as to show their
humility to others. And, there are others that
deliberately behave in a subservient manner, as sheep,
but they are without any power. Are the people of the
kingdom like that? The people in the kingdom should be
vivacious and free, simple and open, honest and
amiable. They should be living in free circumstances.
They should also possess integrity and dignity. They
are able to uphold their testimony wherever they are.
They are people that are liked by both God and man.
Beginners that have just started believing in God have
too many outward ways of doing things. They need to be
dealt with and broken before they are ready. As for
those that have faith in God in their hearts, though
others cannot see their ways of doing things from the
outside, their behavior and conduct are praised by
all. Only by doing this will they live out the word of
God. If you preach the gospel to all and sundry every
day so that they can all be saved, while you are still
living under rules, regulations and theories, you will
not glorify God. Such people are like the religious
personages, and are hypocrites also.
When they meet together, these religionists will say,
°?Sister, how is your situation now?°± She will say,
°?I feel indebted to God, and I am not able to fulfill
the intention of God.°± Then, the other will say:
°?Yes, I am indebted to God as well, and I cannot
fulfill the intention of God either.°± These few
sentences or words disclose the filth in their
innermost beings. Such sayings are most abhorrent and
disgusting. The nature of such people is hostile to
God. Those that pay attention to reality communicate
all that they have with others. They are very open and
without any falseness, such as rites when meeting for
the first time or polite formalities. But, they are
very frank and direct, without worldly customs. Some
people like to do things on the outside, and they
don°Øt even have any common sense. They begin to dance
when hearing others singing hymns; what is more, they
do not realize it when the food in the pot gets burnt.
Such people are not devout, nor honorable, but are
frivolous. They do not conduct themselves in a
practical way! When talking about matters of life in
the Spirit, some people don°Øt say that they are
indebted to God. Rather, they have a true love for God
in their hearts. You feel that your debt to God has
nothing to do with others, and that your debt is to
God and not to others. What use is it if you always
keep talking about your debt to others? You should pay
attention to entering into reality, and not to outward
enthusiasm or outward behavior.
What does man°Øs outwardly good behavior stand for? It
stands for the flesh. Outward ways of doing things, no
matter how good, do not stand for life. They only
stand for your own nature. Outward ways of doing
things cannot fulfill the intention of God. You always
say that you are indebted to God, but you cannot
provide life to others, nor can you arouse them to
love God. Do you think that such things can please
God? You feel that this is the intention of God, and
that it is spiritual, but, in fact, it is all absurd!
You think that what you like or wish is what God likes
or wishes. Can your likes stand for God? Can man°Øs
temperament stand for God? Your likes are precisely
what God hates. Your habits are what God detests and
rejects. If you feel indebted to God, you should come
into his presence and pray to him, and you do not need
to say so to others. If you do not pray about it to
God, but rather, you always show off to others, can
this please God? If you always keep doing things in
outward ways, it means that you are a most superficial
person. What kind of person are you like, if you only
have good outward behavior, but no reality? You are
like the hypocritical Pharisees and the religionists!
If you do not get rid of the outward way of doing
things, you cannot be transformed. And, the
counterfeit elements that are in you will become more
and more, and they will resist God more and more. In
the end, such people will be cast away!
